We were all very sorry to hear that Harrell E. (Hal) Williams passed away over last weekend. Hal was a long time CVAR Chief Tech Inspector and, along with his wife Judy, made CVAR Tech a fun and friendly experience for new and old CVAR members. After Judy passed away a few years ago, Hal returned to racing crewing for Barron Racing and was always upbeat and enthusiastic about our sport and CVAR.
Outside of racing, Hal was a U.S. Navy Veteran and began his automotive career working for both Porsche and Mercedes in the United States and in Europe. He began his racing career as an SCCA flagger in the 1970’s. He got involved with rally events with a Datsun 610 and raced a Zink C4 Formula Vee in SCCA competition. He and Judy moved to Texas in 1998 when he began his involvement with CVAR which lasted through 2021.
